about

"Fourth track of 'Telamon.'
Tribute to John Coltrane. Original arrangement of Aisha/Naima with a rhythmic subdivision in quintuplets and an unpublished outro. Dedicated to the figure of Damarete of Agrigento.
Daughter of Teron of Agrigento and wife of Gelon of Syracuse, she was the first woman in history to actively defend the rights of children. Gifted with a golden crown weighing one hundred talents, she had a coin minted named after her, the 'Demareteion,' and gave it as a gift to the citizens."

lyrics

--
A te, Damarete
Regina dei bambini!
Al cospetto di tal luce
La parola mi abbandona

Rendi in monete
Ciò che fu la tua corona.
Doni a noi i nostri figli!
Gioia sempre, sia con te.

Tuo padre fu la guerra
Ma la pace, tua eredità
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Per te, Damarete
Fanciulla di pietà,
Dolce figlia di Terone,
Oggi canta la mia voce.

Vivi ancora e sempre
oltre il tempo della tua età
dall'inizio, alla fine
che gran dono sei per noi

Tuo padre fu la guerra
Ma la pace, tua eredità.
